Justin Van Bibber

Brandon is an Oregon native, and happy about it. He attended Mount Hood Community College, then transferred to Portland State University. Where he earned a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies, with a minor in English. During his college years he had some of his written work published in newspapers and magazines at both MHCC and PSU, and passionately continues writing as a hobby. Since college, he has worked and volunteered in the education field for over a decade. Working at: Cleveland High School, Lincoln High School, H.B. Lee Middle School and Buckman Elementary, along with finding some of his best experiences here at Impact Learning Center. From physics to forensics, mathematics to semantics, he adores all aspects of assisting aspiring adolescents. A firm believer in the purpose of education, he believes it requires effort from all, and hopes to offer his help. Like American literary master Mark Twain said: “A person who won’t read, has no advantage over one who can’t read.” And like American literary master Theodor Geisel said: “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Amico & Bene

Amico (friend in Italian) is our official greeter. "Mico" as we call him, has had 18 weeks of training through Pet Smart in Gresham. Though he is not a certified therapy dog, he finds his way to give everyone a little love as they enter the center. Mico has been coming to work for over 2 years. Mico enjoys his days playing fetch, flying through the air, getting belly rubs and living the good life. He has a mellow disposition and loves kids. Mico lives in Gresham and shares his home with his sister Bene (good in Italian). Together they are "good friends". We like to say Mico is FUN size, as he weighs in at 42lbs. If you stop in, he will happily sit and shake a paw to get a treat.

Snowy Murry

Snowy grew up in Southern Oregon. She’s always had a passion for working with children. Right after high school she was hired as a preschool teacher, and worked there for three years. She moved to California and attended Hope International University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts.

After finishing her degree Snowy stayed in California  and taught 1st and 2nd  grade for eight years. At that time she decided to move back to Oregon to live closer to her family and got married. Snowy and her husband moved to Troutdale Oregon. She taught Kindergarten and Pre-K until she had her daughter.

For the past few years Snowy has been homeschooling her daughter and looks forward to watching her grow and learn. Snowy is excited for the opportunity to work with children and find fun ways to teach them to love learning.

Loisann Young

Loisann grew up in the Portland area. She has a Bachelors degree in Business management and Communication. She filled all of elective credits with art classes. Now she gets to do the two things she loves tutoring and art. She has owned her own bookkeeping and accounting business and helped her husband start and manage his trucking business. She loves animals and the outdoors and plays piano and guitar.

Loisann started working with children when she moved to California in the 1980s. She absolutely loved it. She was certified and taught English as a second language to K-6th grade. When she moved back to Oregon in the 90s she was a teacher’s assistant for special needs children. Later, she also taught music, art, math, and language in the private sector and tutored at Clackamas community college and the Portland rescue mission for women. She says there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child or anyone realize they could understand and do something they thought they could never do. She has spent much of the past 40 years working with children and adults, especially those with learning difficulties.
